Ultra Open Evening

This was held in October 2022 with an amazing panel:

Damian Hall  – Leading GB Ultra Runner, author and passionate environmentalist. Damian has recorded several Ultra-Trail World Tour top 10s including 5th place at UTMB 2018 and has set several FKTs throughout the UK.

Anna Troup – GB Ultra Runner who holds the FKT for the Pennine Way, Anna regularly finishes as fastest female in classic UK ultras such as the Lakeland 100 and Wendover Woods 100 and was 1st British Female at UTMB 2022.

Sam Amend – GB Ultra Runner holding the British Record for 100 mile in 14 hours and 10 mins. In 2022 she was the first female at Country to Capital.

James Elson – As well as a talented runner himself (Team GB for 24 hour race championship 2016 and 2018), James is the founder of Centurion Running, one of the UKs leading Ultra Race organisers.

GVH All Things Ultra

In June 2022 we had an excellent post run chat about all things Ultra Running. Insightful and inspiring contributions from our esteemed panel.

Philip Robbins – Is the GVH 50 km, 50 mile and 100 mile record holder, has run across the Scottish Highlands and has completed the Marathon des Sables *

Chris Dowling – Is the GVH 100 km record holder and has completed the Wendover Woods and Vermont 100 milers with about 20,000ft of elevation

Sam Sparks – Has completed Race to the Stones 100 km and South Downs Way 100 miles finishing as 13th female in 2023

Nicholas Crowther – Has completed over 20 Marathons and Ultra Marathons and has recently completed the Run the Wild Tour de Mont Blanc **

We had many interesting questions from the floor. Plus the bar was open!

* Marathon des Sables, or MdS is a seven-day, about 257 km (160 mi) ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons in the Sahara Desert

** Run the Wild Tour de Mont Blanc is a 107 miles tour of over 30,000 feet of elevation in six days in the French Alps
